The Awa Adventure Run 

The inaugural Awa Adventure Run on 28 September 2024 showcases the scenic beauty of Te Awa Tupua - Whanganui River.

With a trail run option for all abilities of runners and walkers, there is something for the whole family.

The long course is ~ 22km with plenty of elevation gain over multiple climbs. The medium course is ~14km over mixed terrain with one or two decent climbs (for first timers, or experienced trail runners not wanting to tackle the long distance). The short course is a 7km entry level trail run over mostly easy terrain.

You can choose to walk or run the course that best suits you. The terrain is a mixture of gravel roads, 4WD tracks and single trail incorporating lots of regenerating native bush and exotic forest with stunning views of the Whanganui River.

The Kids run is 1.5km to 2km on mostly singletrack run over easy terrain.
